My name is Mohit Kumar, and I am a second-year Master's student in Engineering in Information Technology at Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LBTU).

During my second semester, I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ Exchange Program at Mid Sweden University in Sundsvall, Sweden. It was one of the most valuable academic and personal experiences of my life.

For my exchange semester, I selected a Computer Engineering course package focused on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. My main study modules included Data Mining and Machine Learning and Project-Based Applied Computer Engineering. In addition, I chose Swedish Language as an optional course because I wanted to learn the local language, better understand Swedish culture, and make my stay in Sweden more enjoyable and meaningful.

My experience with the Erasmus+ program was excellent from the very beginning. The LBTU Erasmus team, my IT Master's Program Director, and the university administration were extremely supportive throughout the entire process. Whenever I had questions about the application, learning agreement, or other documentation, they responded quickly and guided me at every step. Their continuous support made the whole exchange process smooth and stress-free.

At Mid Sweden University, I also had a very positive experience. The professors were knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help students. One aspect that I appreciated the most was the teaching methodology. My courses were approximately 70% project-based and 30% theoretical, which gave me the opportunity to apply my knowledge to real-world problems instead of only studying theory. Working on practical projects significantly improved my technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork experience.

Beyond academics, studying in Sweden allowed me to experience a new culture, meet students from many different countries, improve my communication skills, and become more independent. Living abroad helped me grow both personally and professionally, giving me confidence that will benefit my future career.

I highly recommend every LBTU student to apply for the Erasmus+ Exchange Program. If you are selected, do not hesitate to take this opportunity. Studying abroad is an unforgettable experience that broadens your perspective and helps you develop valuable academic, professional, and life skills.

One piece of advice I would like to share is to carefully choose your courses. Try to select subjects that match your current studies and future career goals. If possible, choose more project-based courses, as they provide hands-on experience and practical knowledge that employers highly value.

I am sincerely grateful to LBTU, the Erasmus+ team, and Mid Sweden University for giving me this incredible opportunity. This exchange semester has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my academic journey, and I will always encourage other students to take advantage of the Erasmus+ program.
