Krishanth Manivannan, a graduate of the winter graduation 2026, wrote his Master's thesis on the topic "IoT-based autonomous monitoring system for real-time wasp detection at beehive entrances", which was defended with a grade of 10, supervised by the Institute of Computer Systems and Data Science, Assoc. Prof. Dr. sc. ing. Aleksejs Zacepins.

Experience story from the graduate:

"I feel genuinely happy and proud about my decision to join LBTU in Latvia. Coming here for my Master's in Information Technology has been one of the best choices I have made, and I feel grateful for everything I experienced and learned.
I really enjoyed the study program. The subjects are mostly practical oriented and cover a wide variety of topics in IT. I gained skills that feel useful for real work, not only theory. The university also offered philosophy courses and taught me how to conduct proper academic research, which helped me think deeper and present ideas clearly.
During my studies, I had the chance to participate in university held conferences. This gave me more confidence in presenting and helped me collect opinions from the academic society about my research. With the collaboration between LBTU and Jelgavas Tehnoloģiju vidusskola, I researched a real time problem and produced a solution through my thesis. This was meaningful for me because it taught me how to use engineering and my studies to solve real life issues for the betterment of our society.
I also want to mention the staff, lecturers, and professors. They are supportive and friendly, and they respond to emails as soon as possible. Most of the time I never waited more than two days for a reply. Misunderstandings can happen sometimes, but fast communication makes it easier to find solutions.
University life also felt active and welcoming. There were many social events arranged by students and the university community, and it really helped me connect with people and feel included. The cultural diversity motivated me a lot. It was something new for me, and I found it really interesting. It pushed me to meet more people, understand different perspectives, and become more open. Even the climate was a new experience. Back in my country, I did not have snow, so seeing snow was honestly exciting and something I will always remember.
I also loved the environment at LBTU. The campus is peaceful, the palace is beautiful, the sports center is great for swimming, and the cafeteria food tastes amazing for a fair price.

Finally, I want to thank LBTU and all the staff, lecturers, and professors for giving me such an unforgettable experience. I will always carry these memories with me, and I am truly thankful for this chapter of my life."
